📄 SERVICE ANIMAL POLICY
Mac Dhat Music, LLC
Effective Date: January 1, 2026
Mac Dhat Music, LLC (“Mac Dhat,” “Company,” “we,” “us”) is committed to providing equal access to services for individuals with disabilities, in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and applicable New York State law.
Definition of a Service Animal
A service animal is defined as a dog that has been individually trained to perform specific tasks or work for a person with a disability.
Tasks must be directly related to the individual’s disability.
Animals whose sole function is to provide emotional support, comfort, companionship, or therapy are not considered service animals under the ADA.
Permitted Inquiries
In accordance with ADA guidelines, staff may ask only the following two questions when a service animal is not obvious:
Is the dog required because of a disability?
What work or task has the dog been trained to perform?
Staff will not:
Request documentation or certification
Ask about the nature of the disability
Require the animal to demonstrate its task
Responsibilities of the Handler
Service animals must:
Be under the handler’s control at all times
Be harnessed, leashed, or tethered unless such devices interfere with the service animal’s work
Be housebroken
Not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others
The handler is responsible for:
Supervision and care of the service animal
Any damage caused by the animal
Studio & Facility Safety
Due to the professional studio environment, service animals must be positioned in a manner that does not interfere with:
Recording equipment
Electrical wiring
Safety walkways
Other clients or staff
Mac Dhat Music, LLC reserves the right to request removal of a service animal if it is out of control or poses a safety risk. In such cases, the individual will still be permitted to receive services without the animal present.
Allergies & Fear of Animals
Allergies or fear of animals are not valid reasons for denying access to a service animal. Reasonable accommodations will be made when possible.
Fees & Charges
No additional fees or deposits will be charged for service animals. However, handlers may be charged for damage caused by the service animal if such charges are applied uniformly to all customers.
Exclusions
This policy does not apply to:
Pets
Emotional support animals
Therapy animals
Governing Law
This Service Animal Policy is governed by the laws of the State of New York, in accordance with federal ADA regulations.
